The TEAM

El Lodazal was founded in 2010 by Jesus Juarez and his wife Denis Juarez. The ranch is a family affair, and you will often see their son Jacob and daughter Rachel assisting with the daily care of the horses and the ranch.

Jesus was born in Michoacán Mexico. His family then relocated to the United States when he was 11 years old. He and Denis were married in 2008. They then moved to South Carolina where they started the Ranch on becoming what it is today, a breeding and training facility focused on building quality horses and passionate knowledgeable riders.

Jesus started riding as a young boy always having a passion and love for animals growing up. He bought his first mare after falling in love with the Friesian breed in Mexico he came back home and bought his first Friesian mare in South Georgia. He later purchased his first Spanish Andalusian in Vidalia GA. Soon after a small group of mares became the start of the breeding program.

Born in Nicaragua and growing up in Costa Rica I had the opportunity to ride as a young man and the passion for this sport as grown ever since. I moved several years ago to the United States where I have spent my time riding and training horses at Rancho Lodazal. As someone who grew up riding horses, I understand the love and passion that comes with the sport. I have taken every opportunity to grow as a rider and now compete at the FEI level in national dressage competitions. Our approach to training these horses and the riders who we work with focuses on building a close relationship and trust between horse and rider. We believe that when that bond is established, the possibilities for growth and development are endless. Come ride with us and experience the joy of equestrianism in a supportive, nurturing environment.

As a seasoned Instructor/Trainer in Beaufort County in the disciplines of Hunter/Jumper and Western instruction, I understand both the joy and challenge of working with these magnificent animals. Our riding school is the culmination of my lifelong dream to share my knowledge and love of horses with others. I have honed my skills in various prestigious establishments, including Southern Oaks, Palmetto Bluff, in Bluffton SC. Prior to that, I spent four years at the Godley Stud Farm in Hyde, Cheshire, England, where I learned and refined my craft. I worked with the trainer at Palm Paddocks, Hilton Head Island, SC.

Now, at Rancho Lodazal, I use my experience and expertise to impart my knowledge on my students, allowing them to discover their potential and fall in love with the sport.
